CHARITY ACTIONS
Founded in 2017 by Eventing rider Alex Hua Tian and friend Philip Wong, the Horsemanship Movement’s mission is to introduce communities throughout China to the core values of equestrianism through a one-off program for children from all backgrounds. By breaking “horsemanship” into three key principles: respect, responsibility and compassion, the program seeks to position equestrianism as a value led activity full of opportunities for character development for children and away from its elitist image. Over the past three years, 600 children from migrant worker families in Shanghai have had the opportunity to meet horses, ride, have a stable management lesson and take the time to reflect and feedback on what “horsemanship” means to them - often with surprising and inspirational answers! Since celebrating winning the FEI Solidarity Award in 2018, the Horsemanship Team has been working hard to expand to four riding school partners in the Shanghai area as well as further plans to reach out to three more regions of China. These riding schools have been both key partners and ambassadors, helping to communicate the values of our sport to their respective communities.

EDUCATION
马语学前班 is initiated by the Chinese Olympic Eventing Rider Alex Hua Tian and his team. It is a commercial education project aims at the promotion of equestrian sport, career, culture and values in China. Our objectives are:
- Promote the sport in China: Equestrianism is a relatively new sport in China, and the general public - especially students, have little access to. This situation limits the development of the sport in China. We aim to provide students and parents with a more comprehensive understanding of horses, the sport, people who are involved in the sport, as well as the values of horsemanship.
- Strengthen quality education: Equestrian sport is not only a competitive sport, but the success behind it requires hard work, resilience, and responsibility.
- Practical vocational education: Equestrianism contains not only riders, but a series of fine division of professions around horses. This curriculum gives students the opportunity to get to know and experience different professions in the industry. Discover the particularity, importance and quality requirements of each profession, and explore their own interests.
